How About a Crisp Loire White
at Almost 30% Off!!
This week's selection : Buisse Touraine Blanc a crisp and bright Sauviognon Blanc that's perfect for aperitifs, fish, soups, salads and starters.
The vineyards that form the appellation of Touraine center around the city of Tours and border the Loire River, stretching from the Sologne region to the edge of Vienne and Anjou. With a south-southwest exposure, grapes stem from trellised Sauvignon Blanc vines that average 25 years of age and are set in clay, limestone soils 328 feet above sea level.
Pioneers in sustainable farming, the Chainier family were among the
first to employ green practices in the area. Minimal weeding of the roots and regular scrutiny of the vines keep treatments to a minimum. To control insects naturally and avoid extermination, pheromone is used to treat the vines. Pheromone eliminates breeding by causing a confusion which hinders the male insects from locating the females.
Paul Buisse has 15 hectares of vines close by the charming town of Montrichard on the banks of the river Cher. Here he has established not only his own wine cellars, dug deep into the chalky cliffs, but has also developed a thriving negociant business, dealing in wines from all over the Loire Valley.
Floral aromatics lead to a racy yet delicate palate that is fruit forward with bright acidity and a seamless finish.
This ripe, tropical-fruited wine is light in texture, with herbal and grassy flavors on the finish
Ideal for appetizers, this crisp, fresh Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect wine to open your palate, serving as a great match for soft cheeses, specifically goat cheese which is a specialty of the Loire region, salads, shellfish and seafood
