New box wines from Field Recordings and Fableist!

Between Fableist, Wonderwall, Neverland, Fiction, and Field Recordings, we carry more wines made by Andrew Jones than any other winemaker – over 20 SKUs and growing.  Why?  His wines are varietally correct, reflect a sense of place, follow sustainable farming practices, and punch well above their weight class in the value department.

The Fableist is a collaboration between winemakers Curt Schalchlin and Andrew Jones. Curt, owner, and vintner of the heralded winery, Sans Liege/Groundwork, is known for his critically acclaimed, yet affordable wines. Andrew, winemaker of Field Recordings spends his days planning and planting vineyards and has stood foot in just about every vineyard on the Central Coast. Together, they produce The Fableist, a collaboration that gives special attention to the craft and story behind each wine.

Well, they have finally jumped on the Bag in Box (BiB) wine bandwagon, and we really, really, like these offerings!

Filed Recordings Boxie is a mix between classic California Chardonnay and orange wine technique on Pinot Gris, Riesling and Albariño makes this the perfect wine to chill down and keep on tap in your refrigerator.  This orange wine has lovely notes of dried apricot with a subtle finish of marzipan. Not too oaky and not too fruity, but with the tannic structure developing through 4-6 weeks of skin contact, really makes it all shine.   46% Chardonnay, 34% Pinot Gris, 18% Riesling 2% Albariño

Boxie contains the equivalent of four 750ml bottles of wine, priced at a little over $8 per bottle.  $32.99 for the box.  We only have 6 boxes per shop, and that’s it (sold out at the winery).

Fableist Red Wine Box is mostly Zinfandel (88%) with 12% Malbec, aged in 100% American oak (16% new) for 24 months.    Organic grapes.  In bottle, the Fableist wines are all priced in the $20 range.   Their BiB contains the equivalent of four 750 bottles, priced at a little over $11 per bottle!
