The Wine
Zaha Malbec, from the Toko Vineyard, is an exceptional expression of Argentine terroir, and one of the reasons stunning Malbec has become synonymous with Argentina. Bold and structured, this is a wine that can be laid down for years, but is certainly enjoyable now (see suggested pairings, below). It opens with dark fruits (blackberry, plum and blueberry), segues into tar, leather, pepper and licorice and finishes with floral notes that are the perfect highlight to this otherwise brooding personality - look for hints of violets, rose petal and orange zest!
Pairings - Aged sheep's milk cheeses (Italian Pecorino or Ossau-Iraty) or red meats (especially beef, it IS from Argentina, after all!).

The Winery
A partnership between winemakers Alejandro Sejanovich and Jeff Mausbach, this wine comes from the Paraje Altamira region of Mendozo's Uco Valley. At nearly 4,000 feet in elevation, this vineyard fairly well defines "High Altitude".
